McCuin Hits Nashville to Record new Effort   By  Tom Rock

I was surfing the web the other day and happened to stumble across Posx bassist of “McCuin” in the chat room at Arkansas Internet Radio. We chatted for a while and  just hit it off so to speak and have become fast friends. His Group “McCuin is a pretty amazing story of struggle and pure determination.

On lead Vocals Greg McCuin is a masterful poet and word smith and has developed deep roots in the heavy metal genres. His stamina and strength can be heard in their previous recordings and live performances. Playing piano, guitar and whatever else he can find to make music. With a and 8000+ and growing fan base, this Russellville based band shows immense promise and talent.

Chris Moran on Lead Guitar is quite the shredder and is very tasteful in his attack and approach, with strong creative and song writing skills, all he needs to worry about is Posx crashing into him on stage as he is a virtual dynamo. Not many bass players own the stage the way that he does. From start to finish he is all over the place, jumping, thumping, running, jamming as if every show was his personal ticket to infamy. And it is, as long as he has a guitar in his hands, he is a happy camper.

Brad Porter is a very solid drummer, with a great rudimentary foundation and a heavy foot he keeps the groove and power flowing in the pocket. With skill developed over years of rehearsel, his reign as the Glenwoods area powerhouse pounder is well deserved.

Chad Lybrand on lead guitar works well with Moran to incorporate sharp and soothing complimentary rhythms and dual harmony leads in solos and trading licks back and forth. Together they are the foreground of the melodies in the songs.

With Franklin “The Cowboy” Warfe from “Eden Crow” driving them to the recording session in his tour bus, Nashville would never be the same as a well rehearsed McCuin set out to lay down some musical intensity and reach for immortality.

First to go were the rhythm tracks and bed tracks, with all 5 members having a turn at the wheel. Then the scratch vocals were redone and in a span of 19 hours the band had recorded 11 songs, eaten 5 pizzas, drank 100 bottles of water and consumed more than 5 family size bags of doritos.  As I spoke to Posx he stated that all of the tunes are gold, and no one is more excited or ready for these new songs to be posted and released. The mix down will take some time, but please be patient as we are all anxious to hear the new McCuin songs.

The C.D. release party is tentatively going to be held at The Rev Room in Little Rock. And I say hats off to McCuin, a great band and a great bunch of guys who we call Friends. Please visit  www.mccuinband.com  for more info.

New album has a tenative scheduled release date for 3/23/10.. Look for it at Hastings, FYE... CANT WAIT!
